-Pledges to pay compensation to victims of demolished houses
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate and his deputy, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat, have promised to complete the abandoned rehabilitation of the Ipakodo-Igbogbo-Igbe and Agric-Owutu-Isawo roads if elected to steer the affairs of the state in the coming election.
The duo, who spoke at the mega campaign rally which was held at the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal at Ebute, on Thursday, January 31, 2019, also pledged to construct a stadium in Ikorodu and embark on other developmental projects.
Party chairman handed over flags to the governorship, deputy governorship and other candidates contesting for different positions in the Lagos East Senatorial District at the campaign rally.
While expressing joy at the large turnout at the rally, Mr Sanwoolu, speaking in Yoruba language, told the massive crowd that his government would complete and embark on developmental projects in Ikorodu if elected.
“Aside the Agric-Isawo and Ebute-Igbogbo roads that Dr Hamzat earlier told you that we are going to complete during our administration and also pay the victims compensation, we are also going to do Sulaimon –Fayas road to Agboyi-Ketu. We are told that these roads are dear to Ikorodu”, he stated.
“We are going to give Ikorodu stadium. We have stadia on the Island, Agege and other places. Ikorodu too is deserving of one and our administration is going give the people of Ikorodu that”.
He condemned the campaign statement of the gubernatorial candidate of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State that the state is in bondage.
“Don’t mind some people that are saying that you are in bondage. I want you to use your votes to tell them that you are not in any bondage”.
Sanwoolu also called for supports for other APC candidates in all the elective positions.
“I appeal to you to vote for our Presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari and our senatorial candidates, Hon. Bayo Osinowo for Lagos East, Sen. Remi Tinubu for the Lagos Central and Sen. Adeola Olamilekan for the Lagos Central as well as Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, Babajimi Benson and others for the Federal House of Representatives on March 16.
“On March 2, vote Sanwoolu as the governor for us to take good care of Ikorodu. Ikorodu people should also vote for S.O.B. Agunbiade, Solaja, Okanlawon, Buraimon, Rotimi Olowo and others.
“We are all sellable candidates”.
Speaking earlier, the deputy governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, who also spoke in Yoruba language, said APC government is reconstructing the Ikorodu-Shagamu road which the PDP government failed to do in 16 b years.
“It is our government that is reconstructing Ikorodu-Shagamu road which their party (PDP) failed to do in 16 years of their administration.
“Our government is going to pay compensation to those whose houses were demolished for right of way for the on-going road reconstruction in Ikorodu and also complete the roads.
“We are also going to do the Igbe road when you use your votes to elect us. Don’t forget that our government constructed Obafemi Awolowo road, Ibeshe road and other roads”.
The APC chairman in Lagos, Alhaji Babatunde Balogun, urged the electorate to support his party which with developmental agenda and massively vote for all its candidates

” As you can see, our party is battle ready for the election; in this party, there is prospect because we are progressive. I am assuring that they are not going to back from the developmental agenda of the party,” she said.
“They are going to continue with the developmental agenda of the state which are good infrastructures, health, education among others.
She also stated that the party’s candidates are sellable and trusted.
“Our party’s candidates have been tested, sellable and dependable.
“Vote for all our candidates from the Presidential candidate to the governorship, senatorial, Federal House of Representatives and State Assembly candidates”, she appealed to the massive crowd.
With THE IMPACT, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly and APC candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency I seat, Hon. Agunbiade stated that:
“We are not promising you any other thing than taking you to the next level. You don’t change a winning team because our party’s candidates are tested and trusted”
