-Hon. Agunbiade attends service, acknowledges grace of God in his life
It was praises galore on Thursday, January 24, 2019, as popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi, ministered with her songs on the 18th day of the ongoing 21 days of fasting and prayer special service themed, ‘Over To God 2019’, at Joy Cometh Ministry situated along Ipakodo-Igbogbo road, Ikorodu.
Between 7,500 and 10,000 people have been attending the service daily since its commencement on January 7, 2019.
For over an hour on that Thursday, Alabi kept the entire congregation which included the pastor of the Church, his wife, Church elders and the visiting Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade dancing and praising God.
She dished out many of her best selling praise worship songs which the congregation passionately sang along with her with their hands raised to the Lord for His mercy. It was indeed a vintage Tope Alabi at her very best.
After the pastor’s grace, the well loved veteran gospel singer sang danceable songs which threw the entire congregants into a marathon dance session as she equally danced along with them elegantly.
Meanwhile, Hon. Agunbiade, speaking at the service, said that his attendance was divined.
“While I was coming into the Church, some of those that greeted me stated that I attended the service because I was invited but I told them otherwise. It was God that invited me to this Church. It was He that has been protecting and guiding my paths.
“I got to where I am today because of His mercy.
“I am a testimony of mercy. When I was born, my parent never thought that I can walk but today, I am the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“While I was in the Lagos State University (LASU), God made me the Students’ Union Leader and at Law School, I was the leader of all the Lagos State indigenes and this was also by His grace.
“I was the only man with defect in his leg at the Lagos State House of Assembly, but I am also the Majority Leader of the same House by His grace”.
Hon Agunbiade stated that he saw God’s grace on entering the Church.
“When I entered this church today, I have seen that His grace in this place. By the grace of God, I shall come back here after the election to celebrate my victory”, he said as the entire congregation shouted a deafening “Amen” and “Halleluyah”.
In his ministration, Pastor Olaitan Aromolaran, the Pastor in-Charge of Joy Cometh Ministry, charged the congregation not to be bothered about where they are presently because the Lord is more than capable to move them to where they ought to be.
“It doesn’t matter what your condition is, God will take you to where He wants you to be”, he stated confidently.
He presented a lady whom he stated had not walked for 37 years until the 17th day of the special service (Wednesday, January 23, 2019) and also used Hon. Agunbiade’s testimony as examples of God’s grace.
While commending Tope Alabi for her breathtaking performance, Pastor Aromolaran stated that she has not seen her ministered with her songs the way she did during the service in the 17 years of their friendship.
“I have never seen Tope Alabi worshipped like this before in my 17 years of knowing her.
He prayed and commended her for her performance.
While speaking about Hon. Agunbiade, Pastor Aromolaran introduced him as one of the men God has been using to move Lagos State forward.
“We have in our midst one of the men that Bible taught us to honour.
“He is someone God has been using to move Lagos State forward. He is the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade”.
Pastor Aromolaran offered special prayer for the lawmaker and God’s protection over him.
He also prayed for the President, governors and other elected political office holders in the country.
