Seven candidates vying for the Lagos State House of Assembly seats in Ikorodu Constituencies I and II in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, will, by 12pm on Sunday, January 27, 2019, engaged in a political debate slated to hold at the Ikorodu Town Hall in Ikorodu.
The debate is being organized by The Real Initiative, a non-governmental organization, in collaboration with the Ikorodu Division Youth Movement with the support of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG).
The debate, which is tagged, ‘Ikorodu Division Legislative Public Debate’, would feature the incumbent occupant of the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat who is the Majority Leader of the Assembly and the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC for the same seat, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, and other candidates of the much coveted seat in the Constituency which include Mr Mukaila Ajagun Lamina, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Shamsideen Abayomi- Bork Alliance for Democracy (AD), and Hon. Adeyemi Odofin, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The debate would also feature the candidates for the Assembly seat in Ikorodu Constituency II among which are the incumbent legislator and the candidate of APC, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, the main opposition party’s (PDP) candidate, Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun and the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mrs Oyebanjo Adeola.
Meanwhile, the Ikorodu Division Youth Movement Coordinator, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu, stated that:
“The First Legislative Debate in the division is going to be massive, interactive, intriguing and impeccable.
He added that the debate is strictly by invitation and interested parties are to register online or send SMS to 08023718323, 08185021934 or 08032071740.
Bisiriyu further stated that various stakeholders and representatives of groups in the division have been invited to participate in the epoch-making debate.
Also, according to the organizers, the rules of the debate would be released to the candidates participating in the debate.
