-Signs 2019 NTYTR Peace Accord
-AD, ADC Assembly candidates also sign Accord
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat, Evangelist Arinze Chris Segun Emenayo, on Wednesday, January 16, revealed that he will bring notable changes if elected as the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
He revealed this while signing the Youths Against Violence Accord (YAVA 2019), an initiative of the NotTooYoungToRun movement.
Evang. Emenayo signed the document when members of the Ikorodu chapter of the movement visited him at the ADC office at the Ikorodu Garage Roundabout, Ikorodu, on Wednesday, January 16, 2018.
He also revealed the legislative agenda he plans to execute to the members of the youth movement if elected to represent the constituents in the six councils within the federal constituency.
The candidate, who stated that he is not a politician but a divine man on mission to bring notable change, stated:
“I stand to bring a notable change to the people. A change of sincerity.
“I’m on a mission for divine mandate which must be fulfilled to achieve my manifestoes for the people”, he sated while presenting his agenda to the youth group.
“My manifestoes are sincere, they are things that are basic to the people.
“My intention is to open a manufacturing and farming markets in Ikorodu if elected.
“I will enhance the production of quality shoes and clothes in Ikorodu. I have already sealed the arrangement with those that are involved and they will be coming as soon as I get the mandate”.
A producer of paint, the ADC candidate also stated that he intends to start the production of cheaper and quality paints for the residents of Ikorodu.
As a farmer and the President of the Young farmers association of Nigeria, Evang. Emenayo stated that further that:
“We do not only have access to lands, we also want to train our youths in various forms of agriculture and empower them.
“We need an Ikorodu where youths can produce and feed themselves.
He stated that he will deliver on all he promised because of what his party stands for.
“As I have said, my manifestoes are sincere. We are members of a party that stands for the people and willing to bring notable changes. Our party is known for friendship, cooperation and harmony. These are what we want to bring into the system.
Other programmes Evang Emenayo revealed to the executives of the youth group are Economic and Trade Enhancement, All Inclusive and Quality Representation, Push for Tax Cut, Free ICT Compliance and Skill Funding, ICT Cameras in Wards, Massive Employment, Skill Acquisition and Empowerment, Family Health Insurance Pattern, Enact Law to scrap State of Origin from CV among many others.
He commended members of the NTYTR movement for the initiative in ensuring peaceful conduct of the 2019 elections
“I’m so happy to hear that our youths have initiated this laudable agenda to ensure that we have peaceful elections in Ikorodu by making candidates signed the peace accord.
“The initiative will help curb violence and I am glad to identify with you.
He called for enforcement and monitoring of compliance to the accord so that any breach can be quickly noticed and checked.
“If the youths can initiate and see to it that candidates are made to sign a peace accord, they must also ensure that there is enforcement and monitoring in place. This is the only way to have early detection of any breach and quickly move in to curb such.
“The most important aspect of the accord should be the enforcement, because nobody should be above the law.
The candidate, who stated that his mother hails from Agura in Ikorodu Local Government, clamoured for peaceful conducts before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
“I’m a man of peace and an evangelist. I seek, desire and want peace in all ramification. The peace that I am seeking for is before, during and after the elections.
In a related development, former Councilor in Ikorodu Local Government and the Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat, Hon. Abayomi Shamsideen and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly seat, Mrs Oyebanjo Adeola, have also signed the NotTooYoungToRun (NTYTR) Youths Against Violence Accord (YAVA 2019).
The two candidates signed the peace accord at their respective offices in Ikorodu when members of the NTYTR movement visit them.
They also pledged to ensure that the 2019 general elections are violence-free by adhering strictly with the spirits of the accord.
Both commended the youths for the initiative and also pledged to attend the political debate to be organized by the Real Initiave in conjunction with Ikorodu Division Youth Movement.
