Members of the Ikorodu Ambassadors Group, a socio-political and humanitarian group, on Saturday, November 24, 2018, again visited the Lagos State Rehabilitation and Training Centre at Owutu in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to donate clothes and other relief materials to the inmates.

Speaking during a brief ceremony, the leader of the Group, Ambassador, Mr Abdulateef Sholanke, stated that it is part of the yearly activities of the group to visit the centre and donate materials as their support for the centre.

“We are here today again to visit the centre as part of our programmes. We consciously included the visitation into the programme of The Ikorodu Ambassador Group to constantly remind us that we are not better than those in this place but we are only privileged to be out there”.

He advised those undergoing vocational training among the inmates to be serious with their studies and use the knowledge to earn a living whenever they are out.

While calling on the privileged individuals and groups to also cultivate the habit of supporting the centre by donating to the less privileged, Mr Sholanke assured the management of the centre that the group shall continue to donate and support the centre from time-to-time.

The representative of the centre thanked members of the group for their gesture.

As part of the Ikorodu Ambassadors Group’s annual activities , used clothes, food items, toiletries and other materials are usually sourced from members who cut across the six local governments in Ikorodu division and outside the division to be donated to the centre and other places where there are less privileged as support.

The group has also been engaging in advocacy for good governance and community development.
