President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Abike Dabiri-Erewa as the chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of Nigeria Diaspora Commission.
The request for her confirmation was contained in a letter read by Senate President Bukola Saraki on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday.
Buhari based his request on section 2 (1) of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission act.
“In compliance with section 2 (1) of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission, I write to forward for confirmation of the senate the confirmation of Hon. Abike Dabiri as the executive chairman/CEO of Nigeria Diaspora Commission,” the letter read.
“Her curriculum vitae is attached herewith. While I hope that hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished senate.”
In another letter, the president asked the senators to confirm Chidi Uzowa as director-general of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
“In accordance with section 21 (a) of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) act 2010, I hereby forward for confirmation by the senate nomination of engineer Chidi Uzowa as director-general of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission,” the letter read.
“It is my hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished senate. Please accept, Mr Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
