More students representatives across Lagos State are identifying with Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, as another sets of students’ representatives from Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), University of Lagos (UNILAG),Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) and other institutions on Monday, October 22, paid him courtesy and solidarity visits.
The visits were coming barely a week after the solidarity visit by the officers and members of the LASPOTECH Students’ Union Representative Council to the lawmaker.
The students visited Hon. Agunbiade in his office at the Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja.
The LASPOTECH Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Akindele David led other students activists, including the Vice President, Comrade Azeezat Yusuf, General Secretary, Comrade Adegboyega Hassan, P.R. O. Osaye John Taiwo, Chief Judge, Abiodun Teslim, Social Dirtector, Afeez Akano and Sports Director, Adesina Yusuf among others on solidarity and congratulatory visit to Hon. Agunbiade who was a former students’ union leader.
Students’ activists from MOCPOED which included Comrade Fabunmi Abayomi, Social Dirtector and Hon Gilbert Victor, the deputy Speaker also visited the lawmaker.
Also paying solidarity visit to the Majority Leader were Comrade Animashaun G. Olamide, Union President (SACOED), Senator Olu Omotayo (YABATECH), Frederick Isaac, President A.D.S.A, YABATECH, Pedotosi Jeremiah, President, LASCOHET and Ozigbo Victor, a student from LASCOHET.
More so, about 15 students in the Department of Political Science from UNILAG also visited the three-term lawmaker on the same day for the purpose of learning legislative process and enhancing their capacities in the business of lawmaking.
Among the student political scientists that visited were Okereke Anthony (400 L), Falana Ayanfe (400 L), Ogunfemi Abiodun (300 L), Adeyinka Mayowa (400 L), Ademola Adewale (300 L), Oyedokun Taofeek (400L) and Ikpe Iheoma Victory (400L) .
Hon. Agunbiade, while welcoming the students, commended them for deeming it fit to visit him on solidarity and also for seeking knowledge on the legislative process.
Also, he passionately explained the rudiment and business of legislation and the process involved in making laws to the young political scientists.
While addressing the students’ activists, the lawmaker challenged them to show good leadership to the members of the various groups they are leading in their respective campuses.
Hon. Agunbiade, a former SUG President and Law student of Lagos State University (LASU), also challenged the students’ leaders to conduct their unionism with intellect and engagements instead of embarking on violent protest.
