About 15 years after aspiring to represent the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Oyebola Ologijo may declare his intention to challenge the incumbent for the much coveted seat once again.
Hon. Ologijo contested on the platform of the then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2003 General Elections against the then candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa who eventually won the election for the seat.
He was one of the chieftains of the PDP who led hundreds of other members of the party to decamp to the ruling party,All Progressives Party (APC), last year alongside Sen. Musliu Obanikoro.
THE IMPACT can reliably report that Hon. Ologijo, a prince of Ogijo town who shuttles between Nigeria, United States of America (U.S.A) and England, has concluded consultations with leaders of the APC and other stakeholders and he is set to publicly declare his intention.
It was also gathered that he has put in place a campaign structure to battle the incumbent, Hon. Babajimi Benson, in the coming APC primary elections.
When the IMPACT contacted some of his allies, they told our reporter that our paper would be the first to be informed when they are ready to launch the campaign in full force.
If Hon. Ologijo eventually declares for the race, it would take the number of aspirants attempting to wrestle the sole seat from the incumbent to two.
Although, the incumbent has not made his interest to seek re-election public, his body language is pointing in that direction.
THE IMPACT has also gathered that the young and cerebral federal lawmaker would also make a public declaration about his intention to seek re-election very soon.
In the same manner, Hon. Owolabi Anifowoshe, who aspired for the House of Repesentatives seat alongside the incumbent in the last general elections is also perfecting moves to also make his own declaration public.
THE IMPACT, however, gathered that he is still consulting political leaders as well as other stakeholders and family members.
