The 3rd year coronation anniversary of His Royal majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, continued on Tuesday, August 7,2018, with the Market Day event during which the monarch conferred chieftaincy titles on seven market leaders in Ikorodu division.
Among those installed were Alhaja (Chief) Kehinde Agbaku Shonuga, Alhaja Fehintola Jaiyesimi Lawal and Chief Mrs. Olufunmilayo Lawal who were installed as Balogun General, Iya-Laje General and Majeobaje – General of Ikorodu division respectively.
Hundreds of distinguished guests, visitors, residents, ethnic groups, top politicians, market men and women among others witnessed the ceremony at the Ayangbure palace.
Oba Shotobi, who is also the Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, during the installation ceremony, urged the honorees to ensure that there is peace and cooperation in their respective communities to make the entire Ikorodu division peaceful.
He enjoined them to show good examples to their market members as royal representatives.
Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, made a grand entry into the venue in the company of members of the Arewa group in Ikorodu.
Agunbiade, who hold the title of Opomulero of Ikorodu Kingdom, was given the privilege to anchor the presentation of a horse by the Arewa community as gift to kabiyesi.
Others conferred with chieftaincy titles by Oba Shotobi were Chief Lawal Abayomi – Baba-Loja, Igi-Nsowo, Chief Ishola Wera – Baba-Loja General Ikorodu North, Chief Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odunsi – Iya-Loja General Omolaiye Market Ikorodu North and Chief Kazeem Olamilekan Olukotun – Baba-Loja Omolaiye Market Ikorodu North.
