His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I and the Adeboruwa of ancient Kingdom of Igbogbo, has added his voice to the call by other leaders in Ikorodu division that residents should get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to improve the electoral value of the division.
The royal father made the appeal when members of the A+ Disciples, a body campaigning for the re-election of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, visited him in his palace in Igbogbo during a rally on PVC sensitisation on Saturday, July 28, 2018.
The group had staged the rally in commemoration of its one year anniversary.
Oba Kasali, who spoke through Odofin of Igbogbo, High Chief Duduyemi Alade Onasanya, urged both indigenes and non-indigenes of Igbogbo to ensure that they get their PVC before the closure of the registration exercise in August.
The monarch, who stated that the only way for Ikorodu division to positively improve on his political relevance is by recording the highest voting record in the state, also made it clear that the government has enjoined traditional rulers in Lagos State to ensure that people in their respective communities get their PVC, adding that their efforts in this regard would be thoroughly monitored.
“Governor Ambode will be meeting with the traditional rulers in Lagos and he is expecting update on PVC collection in our respective domains. I enjoin you to massively go out and register and collect your PVC. You are also expected to tell other members of your families, friends and others to also do same”, the royal father urged the people.
