The movement of members of the staff of the Ikorodu Local Government from the T.O.S Benson Avenue location to the two rented temporary office complexes along Lagos road,Ikorodu, may be shifted due to some pressing factors.
THE IMPACT gathered that the partitioning of the two buildings are yet to be completed.
As at the morning of Wednesday, June 13, 2018, when our reporter visited the temporary office buildings, furnishing works were still going on.
THE IMPACT had reported last week that the council would be vacating its present location on June 11, but this was delayed till Wednesday, June 13(today) which may no longer be feasible considering the latest development.
At a stakeholders’ meeting with the staff of the Council held on Monday, June 11, 2018, the council chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, announced Wednesday, June 13 as the new date for the commencement of the movement of staff members and movable properties of the council to the new locations.
It was also reliably gathered that members of staff of the personnel department have been scheduled to be the first section to be moved.
Also according to the report gathered, the council is considering renting another building to make it three to be able to accommodate the about 500 political office holders and staff members of the council
This was due to a report that the two rented buildings may not be able to accommodate the entire workforce of the council.
During a visit to the Ikorodu Council Secretariat today, our reporter saw bags packed with files and other documents in the personnel department ready to be moved to the new office accommodations.
Some of the staff members who spoke with our reporter said they are prepared and are only waiting for directive to move to the temporary office space.
The chairman of the council was,however, not available to comment on the new development as at the time of filing this report.
