Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to support the anti-corruption campaign of the president .
She made this appeal in Ikorodu on Thursday during the commissioning and handing over of a motorised borehole project donated to the Ayangbure (Sabo) market in Ikorodu.
“It is in our own interest to support the anti-corruption campaign of the president because that is panache for good governance.
‘‘People should not just be following, they must at all time query what their leaders are doing with power”.
She urged party faithful to do away with money politics and instead promote good governance that would engender developmental projects.
Speaking on the commissioned project, Hon. Abike stated: “It was brought to my notice that the market lacks water and I immediately directed my aide to commenced work.
“It doesn’t have to be only when we are in elective position or seeking for one that we should be providing for people’s needs.
“It is a solar powered borehole which needed to be well managed. The management of the market should prevent it from being vandalized”.
The former lawmaker also hinted about the commissioning of a primary health centre at Mowo-Nla at a later date.
Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, the chairman of the Ikorodu Local Government, while speaking at the event, commended the donor whom he described as a true representative.
“I’m greatly happy and exceedingly joyful on this occasion of handing over of this water project by Hon. Abike”, Hon. Adesina stated.
“This is not new to us because she has been a very representative of her people. She has been impacting positively since her days in the House of Representatives and yet, she’s not relenting”.
“Aside this water project, she is also working on a health care project at Mowo-Nla which will soon be commissioned. She is a kind of person that should be representing Ikorodu people because she knows the people’s needs”.
“In recognition of her sterling performance and good deeds, the local government has resolved to name a street after her. This would be done on the day she will be commissioning the Primary Health Centre at Mowo-Nla”, Hon. Adeshina revealed.
The Iya-Oloja General of Ikorodu division, Alhaja Risikat Allison,while also speaking, commended Hon. Abike for the donation and assured that the facility would be properly managed.
Other dignitaries at the commissioning were Princess Folashade Oba, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Lateef Afinni, the Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government and Mrs Funmi Basorun among others.
