The youth wing of a major Islamic group in Nigeria, the Ridwanuallh Missionary Organization of Nigeria, on Sunday, May13, 2018, honoured a community developer, chieftain of the local vigilance organization, Onyabo Vigilance Group and personal assistant to the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Olalekan Pelumi (Rado) with award of excellence.
He was honoured alongside others at the Islamic organization’s pre-Ramadan lecture/award ceremony, themed, “The Righteous Youths” held at the Enifeni’s house, Oluwakemi Street, Ikorodu.
The community activist was recognized for his constant efforts, excellent mentoring roles, outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the organization and Islam at large.
The organizers of the award also commended the awardee for his role in securing Ikorodu division.
Also conferred with an award of excellence was Alhaja Modinat Yusuf, a retired teacher and philanthropist.
Other awardees were Alhaja Lateefat Abdul-Azeez and Alhaji Isiaq Olayinka
Guests that graced the award ceremony were Otunba Ganiu Abiru, the chairman of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Dr Timothy A.G. Okeowo, a senior lecturer with the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu main campus and Comrade Kehinde Okeowo among others.
