Ongoing Projects In Imota Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division
The Imota Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu division of Lagos State, which has been an isolated community because of its location and distance, has been experiencing social and economic turn-around in recent time with several developmental projects being cited in the area courtesy of the Lagos State Government, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and elected representatives.
According to the Chairman of the Imota LCDA, Prince (Hon) Wasiu Agoro, some of these projects were made possible through the intervention of the traditional ruler of the ancient community, His Royal Majesty, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro, FCA, the Ranodu of Imota, as well as the efforts of the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, Representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson and the council.
Below are the list of the ongoing projects in Imota LCDA :
- Ongoing rehabilitation of the abandoned Imota Library by Imota LCDA.
- Ongoing reconstruction of Obadan market in Imota by Imota LCDA.
- Construction of 13+1 Blocks of Classrooms, offices, store, toilet facilities and fire fighting installation at LG Primary School at Imota by the Lagos State Government.
- Installation of Solar Power by Hon. Babajimi Benson.
- Construction of an ICT Centre by Senator Gbenga Ashafa.
- Ongoing construction of Lagos State commodities Market (Mile 12) by the Lagos State Government.
- Construction of 2 roads jointly by the Lagos State Government and Imota LCDA.
- Expansion of Rice Mill by the Lagos State Government
- Ongoing construction of a block of 3 Classrooms by Sen. Gbenga Ashafa.
- Acquisition of two and half hectares of lands for the construction of permanent council secretariat that is expected to kick-start soon.
