-Rehabilitation works to begin on Ikorodu-Sagamu Road soon
The Honourable Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, has commissioned a new 2X60 MVA, 132/33KV Transmission Substation, in Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
The Substation which was commissioned on Monday has the capacity to evacuate over 90KW of generated energy to the benefit of Odogunyan Industrial Estate also has the capacity to serve the whole of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The Minister assured the people of Ikorodu of more Federal Government presence in the area, while also stating that contractor would return to site to commence the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Shagamu road.
He added that before the end of July, another substation will be commissioned in Ikorodu Federal Constituency to further enhance the energy evacuation capacity of the TCN.
Hon Babajimi Benson, Member, Federal House of Representatives, had seized the opportunity during his speech to ask the Minister when rehabilitation work would commence on Ikorodu-Sagamu road.
The lawmaker stated that the gesture of the federal government would revive the moribund Industrial Estate in Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
“Without mincing words I can gladly and confidently say that the various investments in our Constituency will boost the revitalization of one of the biggest industrial estates in Nigeria and make Ikorodu Federal Constituency a beehive of commercial activities in not too distant future”
He also assured that “With these investments and coupled with the revolutionary approach to road construction by His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode across the Ikorodu Division, I believe economic activities will be revived in the town. We are known to be very enterprising and industrious”
He commended the resilience and patience of the people of Ikorodu and other road users plying the Ikorodu-Sagamu road
