The federal lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, has revealed that federal Government may also award contract for the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Itoikin road.
He stated this during the commissioning of a block of 3 classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Eletu in Ijede Local Council Development Area.
Hon. Benson, while reconfirming the approval of over N20bilion by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Shagamu road which has remain a daily sorrow and nightmare to the motorists and other road users who ply it on daily basis due to its bad condition, stated that work is ongoing to also secure federal government’s approval for the rehabitation of Ikorodu-Itoikin road which is the second Trunk A road that connects Lagos State with other parts of the country.
“Thanks to you all for your patience, understanding and perseverance over the bad condition of the Ikorodu-Shagamu road. We are all involved in the recent development and we are greatly appreciative of the federal government for awarding the contract for the rehabilitation of the road”, Hon. Benson said appreciatively.
“But it’s not yet hurray. We still need your prayers, supports and cooperation for the project to kick-start and be completed”, Hon. Benson appealed.
The performing federal lawmaker also gave the Ikorodu constituents at the event another cheering news when he announced that work is also in progress to ensure that Ikorodu- Itoikin road gets federal government’s approval for rehabilitation.
“We are also working on the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Itoikin road which is another strategic road for the Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. Everything being possible and with God’s and the support of the good people in my constituency, the federal government may award the contract for the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Itoikin road”, he said to the joyous constituents.
