-Commendations, endorsements trail Hon. Agunbiade’s representation

1,207 residents of Ikorodu division who cut across all ages and class benefitted from one year health plans of Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Representative of Ikorodu Constituency I.
The beneficiaries were also provided with free Blood Pressure (BP), Sugar and malaria tests at the commencement of the health plans event tagged, ‘Ilera L’oro’ (Health Is Wealth) which was held at the Ayangbure palace in Ikorodu on Wednesday , February 14, 2018.
The event, which was organized by the Onward Movement of Nigeria in conjunction with a leading health management company in Nigeria, Clearline , allowed the beneficiaries to pick any hospital of choice among selected five hospitals in Ikorodu division where they would be receiving free medical treatments on the lawmaker’s bill for one year.
The hospitals are Newgate Hospital, Holyfill Hospital, The Excellence Hospital, Bronila Medical Hopsital and Dasochris Hospital.
The programme was flagged -off by His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and his wife, Olori Kudirat.
Hon. Agunbiade, while speaking at the event, stated that the health programme was instituted to assist numerous residents access affordable and good health care nearer to their homes.
“This programme is being instituted because I do receive several requests for medical assistance from people. Though, I have been assisting them but I thought it fit to institute a lasting health programme that can take care of many, he stated.
“The main incident that prompted this was a case of a young boy whose mother came to me to seek assistance for his appendices operation which was confirmed to be true after investigation. The woman was running from one place to the other to raise N85,000 for the treatment, whereby time was no longer on his side and I ordered that the boy should be taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital for the operation”, Hon. Agunbiade explained.
“It was on the day the boy was to be operated upon that the appendices busted and he was rushed into the theatre. Today, the boy is alive and doing better.
“What if there was no intervention for the boy? We would have been saying another thing. This prompted me to approach the health company for health package for my people because there are many cases like this around us”, he added.
“We agreed to have a package for various tests and treatments for a year for all the beneficiaries which I will pay for.”
“The package that covers all our beneficiaries is Silver package which involves all sought of ailments and minor operations. And you can approach the hospital that you have picked out of the five hospitals for treatment. You are free to go to the hospital for treatment without paying any penny”, Hon. Agunbiade stated.
“This is part of my mandate as your representatives. We have done different programmes like soft loan for the market men and women; computer training for the youths; skill acquisition for the youths; empowerment for the artisans, brain contest for students, marathon race for our students and many more, he explained.
“In distributing the forms for this programme, we targeted many groups including religious bodies, traditional groups, market associations, APC members, people in other parties, traditional institutions among others.”
In his keynote address, the representative of Clearline, stated that the organization is concerned with bringing good and affordable health care closer to the people.
“Our aim is to prevent little health situation degenerating into complex one by bringing affordable healthcare services nearer to people.”
“In this area, we have five hospitals from which the beneficiaries can pick from to take care of them without paying any money because Hon. Agunbiade has paid for the total package”, the Clearline representative added.
“You will be entitled to every treatment covered by the Bronze plan that the lawmaker have provided for. These hospitals have standard health system with good medical equipments. You can approach any of them that you have picked as many times as possible for your complaints and treatment”, he stated further.
“If there is need for surgery, you will be operated upon without any problem and you are also not to pay for it once you are able to produce your card.”
“We thank Hon. Agunbiade for partnering with us to bring good and affordable health system to the people”, he said.
In his royal speech, Oba Kabiru Shotobi stated that he is proud of Hon. Agunbiade’s exploits and performances in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“I’m the one who gave our son and representative in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Agunbiade, the staff of office as ‘Osa Ikorodu’ ( Ikorodu Deity) because of his exemplary representation”, Oba Shotobi affirmed.
“You can see multitude of people, especially women, that are here because of the lawmaker’s programme. It shows that he has the mandate and support of Ikorodu people.I want to appeal to you all to go and do your registration so that you will be able to vote for Agunbiade again”, Oba Shotobi declared in support of the lawmaker’s ambition.
“Our voters card is our power and it is what we are going to use in repaying Governor Ambode and Hon. Agunbiade for the good work they have been doing for us. The ruling party is unfolding good programmes for our people and we must repay them”, the traditional ruler said while asking beneficiaries to register for the coming elections.
“This health programme is unprecedented and very commendable. It is not the normal health programmes but one with adequate package to take good care of our people for one year. He is a good representative of Ikorodu. I commend you for a job well done”, Oba Shotobi stated.
“This is an evidence of good representation and dividends of democracy. We are seeing the result of our vote for Agunbiade unlike those that you have voted for before who only remembered you when election was near.”
“On behalf of the Ikorodu people, kingdom and division, I thank Hon. Sanai Agunbiade for providing us with this opportunity. I want to ask leaders of the party present to convey the message of Ikorodu people to the top hierarchy of the party that Agunbiade is delivering on his promises to us. He has huge followers especially women who are very important to any arrangement”, he concluded.
Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), in his own speech, stated, “I want to appreciate our lawmaker for bringing this programme to Ikorodu. Those of us growing old will appreciate this health programme better. It is not easy for somebody to look after so many people’s health for a year”, he stated.
“This is a great opportunity for both old and young and I pray that it will be of great benefit to the beneficiaries.”
“Hon. Agunbiade has been executing our party’s programmes which President Buhari and our party, the All Progressives Congress,had promised the people. This is a comprehensive health insurance and welfare programme.”
“Our representative at the state level is implementing the good programmes for our people and not concerned about all sought of negative talks going round. Let us continue to pray for him to be empowered to do more. I commend him highly”, Basorun said appreciatively.
“We are now in electioneering season during which everybody would like to contest. We should all be prayerful that God should grant us whatever we desire. If your prayer is not heard now, don’t be discouraged. Whatever the outcome of the forthcoming elections, we should accept the position and show love to one another. We are happy with what Hon Agunbiade is doing which is why I am here today to identify and show our party’s support”, Basorun stated in support of Agunbiade’s representation.
