As part of efforts to further develop Lagos youths through football, Hon. Bayo Osinowo, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly in conjunction with Sport Konsult Organization is staging a soccer tournament tagged, ‘Lagos East Unity Cup 2018’
The tournament is slated to hold in three locations of the East Senatorial District – Ikorodu, Epe and Shomolu.
While the Ikorodu section of the tournament kicked off of on Saturday, January 20, 2017, the Somolu section started last week, while Epe section is expected to kick off next week.
In the opening match in Ikorodu, E4 FC defeated Achievers FC 2 goals to 1 with Alakija Haruna scoring the 2goals for the home side, while Luqman Omotosho gave the Achievers their only goal.
In the second match of the day, Ikosi-Isheri FC scored 3goals to beat Bonina Global FC which only managed to put a goal behind the net.
While Oluwu Seun scored the 3goals for Ikosi-Isheri, Banina’s lone goal was scored by Idris Rasaq.
It was an easy victory for Dynamic FC in the third match of the opening day. The home team defeated Federal FC 4 goals to 1.
Tosin Yinusa scored two goals in the 34 and 78 minutes, while Salisu and Idowu scored in the 65 and 90minutes of the match to give Dynamic FC emphatic victory. The only goal by Federal FC came from Akeem Adewole via a penalty in the 78minute of the match.
Federal FC goalkeeper was sent off the pitch by the Centre Referee in the 98minute of the match for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A total of 16 teams are scheduled to play in Ikorodu section of Lagos East Unity Cup 2018.
