For Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State and the Asiwaju of Igbogbo Kingdom, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, entering into another year and being appointed as a member of a federal board among other favours are enough reasons to give thanks to God.
And in showing his profound appreciation to God, the veteran politician organised a modest get-together party on Monday, January 1, 2018, at his country home in Igbogbo to fete family members, traditional rulers, political leaders, party members, associates and residents across Ikorodu division who had all stormed his house to celebrate with him.
Asiwaju Bashorun, an old political war horse and one of the few surviving Awoists, was recently given a federal appointment as a member of National Directorate of Employment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Guests, who had started gathering at his home around 1pm on that day, were treated to variety of sumptuous meals and assorted drinks with good songs which were supplied by a Disc Jockey (DJ) engaged to entertain them.
The guests and their host had a funfilled moment all through as they dined, wined and danced joyousIy to revel in the mood of the event.
The ecstatic host, who appears not to be tired of active political engagements, in company of his pretty wife,Yeye Bolanle, moved round the tables to personally welcome, exchange pleasantries and thank his guests for honouring him with their presence at the event.
Among eminent personalities and chieftains of APC that graced the occasion were His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Comrade Sesan daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Ola Ameen Apanisile, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo, Vice Chairman, Ijede LCDA.
There were also Alhaji Lateef Afinni, Secretary to the Ikorodu LG, Hon. Nurudeen Council Leader, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. (Mrs) Adekoya Ayo Abiodun, Council Leader, Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Wasiu Olowu, the Majority Leader,Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. (Mrs) Ibrahim Bareekis Aderoju, the Majority Leader, Ikorodu North LCDA and Hon. Matthew Arowolo, Councilor, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Ashafa, Councilor, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
Others were Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, former Executive Secretary, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, APC Woman Leader, Lagos East Senatorial District, Pa Bakare, former Vice Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Mrs Funmi Basorun, Hon. Mathew Adesanya, Barr. Lekan Ijelu, Mr Owolabi Anifowoshe, Mr Ahmed Olalekan Aroyewun, Alhaji Lamidi Folorunsho, Alhaji Ola 4 and Mr Ayanbadejo Kehinde.
More so,there were past political office holders in Local Government and LCDAs across Ikorodu division , Students’ Union Executives, youth groups and the Iya-Oloja of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA among others.
