Organizers of the annual ‘Miss Igbogbo’ Beauty Pageant, now ‘Miss Adeboruwa’ Beauty Pageant, has stated that the rebranding of the contest is to ensure that the competition impact positively on the socio-cultural and economic spheres of the ancient community and its youths.

In a release signed by the pageant’s director, Mr Odusanya Abdulateef Omotayo, a copy of which was sent to THE IMPACT, it was stated that the pageant is aimed at giving young girls in Igbogbo community a platform to showcase their talent and excel.

“Reason behind this programme is to give our young girls a platform to be able to see beyond being just a common girl and a house wife”.

“Over the years, ‘Miss Adeboruwa’, formally ‘Miss Igbogbo’, had produced more Spotlight stars in the pageantry industry. Some of them have gone to win beauty competitions outside Igbogbo like the 2015 Miss Lagos Carnival (Agbeke Eko) won by Miss Damilola Edwards,  2016 Miss Independent won by our own Miss Adenike”, the statement stated.

It added, “ Some of them are signed with international modeling agencies and doing great in the industry . This is more than just a programme, it’s absolutely an empowerment scheme”.

Camping for this year’s edition holds on November 23rd, 24th and 25th, while the final holds in Igbogbo on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
