Hon. Ola Animashaun, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly beat two other aspirants to emerge Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency seat.
Animashaun scored 30 votes to beat Mr Tanimola Shonubi who came second with 29 votes and Dr (Mrs) Olanrewaju Dixon with 3 votes.
While speaking with THE IMPACT, Hon. Animashaun said, “It was keenly contested election and my victory is for those that had labour for the party. Those that held on to the party structure did not consider my efforts over the years and it was going to be a disgrace but for experience and my appeal to the conscience of party members.”
He added, “If I had not being courageous person I would have given up but I remembered stories of courage in Bible and Quran. It was a tough exercise but a very good one and I’m more than prepared for the general elections come 2015.”
Dr Dixon who scored three votes expressed her satisfaction with the whole process and said that she was happy that a party man won the race.
